March 23rd Presentation of Community Food Assessment

Columbia County Community Food Assessment: Come learn about current research and share ideas for the future
Presentation by Anna Duhon, Hawthorne Valley Farmscape Ecology Program

Where does our food come from?  What kinds of agricultural, community, retail, and other food resources exist in Columbia County?  How do community members interact with these food resources?  What about schools - what kinds of food, agriculture and health-related choices are students making?  What role do farmers' markets, CSAs, farm stands, grocery stores and other markets play in providing fresh and local food, and how accessible are they to the people who live here? These are some of the questions we've been exploring through this ongoing Community Food Assessment project.  We'll share results from the research we've conducted so far, and most importantly, invite your feedback on what other research would be useful, and next steps to creating a healthier food system in Columbia County.
